PSRC1
PSRC1 encodes proline and serine rich coiled-coil 1, a microtubule-binding protein involved in mitotic spindle regulation. It sits at the 1p13 CELSR2-PSRC1-SORT1 locus, where common regulatory variants are strongly associated with blood LDL cholesterol. PSRC1 transcript levels change with genotype at this locus, but functional work points to SORT1 as the gene mediating the cholesterol effect.
