CELSR2
CELSR2 encodes cadherin EGF LAG seven-pass G-type receptor 2, a large adhesion GPCR involved in cell-cell contact and neuronal development. It is one of three genes at the 1p13 CELSR2-PSRC1-SORT1 locus, one of the strongest and most reproducible common-variant loci for blood LDL cholesterol. The lipid association at this locus is driven by regulatory variation, not by a coding change in CELSR2, and the causal gene for the lipid effect is SORT1 rather than CELSR2 itself.
